I am so thankful for the exposure and the interest in my blog by the Loris Times!

Since beginning my blog back in November, I have had several opportunities available to me that have been so awesome and allowed me to connect with some very sweet people. I hope to grow my blog and continue to create content that you all enjoy!

Fast & Easy Holiday Treat

Hi friends!

Christmas is almost here! With all of the last minute shopping and present wrapping going on, you might be in need of a quick and easy treat to bring to a party or for the big day.

Christmas Bark was introduced to me by my sweet friend, Caroline, a few years ago, and I have been making it ever since! It is Pinterest inspired and is sure to be a hit with even the most picky eaters.

As it is one of the easiest desserts I have ever made, it is also the quickest. Below is the recipe and instructions but feel free to switch it up if there is something you like best!

Christmas Bark:

14 whole Oreos (Christmas colored or Mint Oreos)
1 1/2 cup Pretzels (Long, skinny ones work best)
1 cup Christmas colored M&Ms
1 lb White Chocolate or Almond Bark (I used white chocolate)
Optional: Christmas Colored Sprinkles

  1. Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper.
  2. Break up cookies and pretzels and spread across cookie sheet.
  3. Add 1 cup M&Ms to the dry mix.
  4. Melt chocolate and pour over the dry mix, covering as much of the mix as possible.
  5. Spread the chocolate over the remaining dry mix to cover evenly.
  6. Add leftover M&Ms (and sprinkles if you choose.)
  7. Allow the mix to cool until hard, then break into pieces for eating!

Happy Thanksgiving Friends!

I hope you are enjoying time with family and friends and eating lots of good food! This is such a great holiday because it not only brings people together but is a time to reflect on all the things for which we are thankful.

I am very thankful for so many blessings in my life and thankful for each of you that take the time to read and comment on my blog! Palmetto Couture has been a blast to create, and I can’t wait to see where I can take it.

Today I am taking it easy with my parents, doing some online shopping (I love some deals!) and taking a great, big nap!

I will also get a jump-start on writing out my Christmas cards and pulling some Christmas decorations out of the attic if I’m feeling energetic! What will you be doing today?

I hope you are able to enjoy your day and remember to be thankful for everything not only today but everyday. And again, thank you so much for supporting Palmetto Couture!

Sangria Photoshoot

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that means spending time with family and friends and eating a lot of good food!

Every family has their own traditions regarding the Thanksgiving day menu, but if you are looking for a delicious and festive cocktail to share at your feast, I have just the recipe for you!

You may have seen a similar recipe circling around Pinterest the past few months much like I have. I decided to do a trial run with my best friend, Laura, and her husband, Ryan, to see if it would pass the taste test. And ya’ll, this is dangerously good!

I present to you…Caramel Apple Sangria!

It is a fairly simple drink to make but honestly, it appears and tastes like a lot more went into making it! We added a special touch by rimming the glass with brown sugar and it not only looked pretty, but it added more flavor to the sangria with each sip!

Below is the recipe we used, but if you are wanting a larger quantity I would simply double the ingredients:

Caramel Apple Sangria

750ml bottle of Pinot Grigio (or white wine of your choosing)
1 cup of Caramel Flavored Vodka
2 cups of Apple Cider
1-2 Apples
Brown Sugar (for rim decoration)

Pour all liquids into a large pitcher and stir. Cut apples into small pieces and add to the pitcher. To decorate the rim of your wine glasses: dip the top of the wine glass into a little apple cider and then place lip of the glass into a shallow plate of brown sugar to coat the rim.

Then pour your sangria and enjoy!
