Spring Time Casual

Hi friends!

I hope you had a great Easter with family and friends. I took a few days off from work last week to relax, and it was so nice to not set an alarm!

Now that it is officially Spring, I want to get back in the swing of things! I will be updating the blog home page soon so look for that hopefully in the next few weeks and pray for good weather so I can get some awesome pictures! 🙂

Today’s look is something super casual and an outfit that I just threw on while spending a Saturday with my mom. Because Spring can still be chilly and often times rainy, we can’t put away all the sweaters just yet.

To stay warm and still feel like you are participating in Spring fashion, I recommend bright or pastel colored sweaters. Its not rocket science but incorporating those colors will immediately take your look from drab to fab!

My sweater is from Crown & Ivy which you can find at Belk! If you know me well, you know I LOVE Belk because I can always find super cute items on a great deal. I almost never pay full price for anything because I know it will go on sale. My jeans are Express, and my loafers are last season but they are from Brooks Brothers. They are SO comfortable.

Have an awesome day!

Did you hear the news?!

Friends,

To say I am excited is an understatement…

Palmetto Couture was featured in one of my local area newspapers last week!

I am so thankful for the exposure and the interest in my blog by the Loris Times!

Since beginning my blog back in November, I have had several opportunities available to me that have been so awesome and allowed me to connect with some very sweet people. I hope to grow my blog and continue to create content that you all enjoy!

Special thank you to Jen Boyd, author of the articles, for reaching out and believing in me. You are awesome!

Bling in the New Year!

Hi friends,

I can’t believe the end of 2015 is here! November through mid-January are always so busy for me because not only do I celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year, I have my best friend and I’s birthday right after!

That’s a lot of celebrating. And a lot of outfits to style! Fortunately, I love pulling together festive outfits for this time of year. The holidays really allow you to bring out some fancy pieces you might not typically wear on any given day.

That’s one of the reasons I love dressing up for New Year’s Eve- the bling! If you have no clue what to wear this year, or just need a few fun ideas, check out the sassy AND affordable options I’ve posted below. SO many stores are in clearance right now, so it won’t cost you a lot to look fabulous!

  1. The Statement Skirt: Find a bold skirt that stands out and keep the rest of your outfit simple. Easy and chic.

  2. Faux Fur: If you really want to sass up your outfit, add a touch of faux fur. Whether its a coat, a vest, or an easy shawl, fur immediately adds a luxurious feel to your outfit.

  3. Sequins: Don’t think sequins of the ’90s prom dress variety. Think a cool blazer, leggings, or a sleek, form fitting dress if you have a dressier evening planned.

While you can go as dressy or casual as you like this New Year’s Eve, I hope these ideas give you some style inspiration. I plan to ring the New Year in with friends and prepare myself for my best year yet- professionally, personally, spiritually, and of course, fashionably!

Dressing for the Weekend

I love to dress up! Dressing up always makes me feel fabulous and sassy, but there are times when I just want to be casual and comfortable too.

While I would love to live in sweats and Ugg boots some days, if I want to leave the house, I try to make a little more effort in my attire. Above, I paired basic pieces to create a look that was super comfortable and still stylish. If you remember from this post, I am a fan of combining warmth, style, and comfort!

By pulling together basics like a long sleeve tee, a monogrammed fleece vest, and jeans, you immediately have an easy outfit that you can style up with booties, a fun handbag, and festive scarf.

You can find similar items like what I am wearing here: Long Sleeve/ Vest/ Jeans/ Booties

What is your go-to weekend look? Are you casual or dressy? Let me know!
