#WIW to a Sunday Wedding

Hi friends,

Wedding season is in full effect! I went to see my friends, Kelly and Steve, tie the knot this past Sunday, and it was so beautiful. (They are the brunette Barbie and Ken in my opinion!)

They had an awesome brunch style reception with a mimosa bar and crepe station, and I may or may not have made the biggest crepe possible. I’m talking cannoli creme, nutella, and strawberries in that bad boy! HAHA!

Another awesome thing I noticed at the wedding how was popular color was among the ladies. Several of us were wearing an orange or coral like my dress shown, as well as bright green and royal blue.

Weddings are a great time to dress up and try on something fun and girly. My dress is last season Jessica Simpson, but I really think the lace and the midriff cut outs are continuing to be popular this spring and summer seasons.

NYC: Part II

Hi friends!

Last week was absolutely crazy! I planned to get part 2 up on the blog by the weekend, but I was overwhelmed with life activities. Some of that included doctor’s appointments, gym time, working my part time gig, and a photo shoot that will give the blog a little facelift- Shew!

So here is a little summary of the rest of my trip to NYC:

On Saturday, I went into the city and looked around Times Square. While it is very tourist-oriented, I love all the bright lights and jumbotrons. There are so many sights to see- people included- that I always enjoy walking through the area.

I had breakfast near Times Square and that meal started my bagel breakfasts for the rest of the weekend! So, so good!

My favorite activity that day was actually going into a small store called Laline. It was a cute little shop filled with bath and body products. My best friend’s husband, Ryan, was a good sport and went into Laline with me, where we picked hand scrubs and had a mini spa experience! HAHA! I even bought a scrub, lotion, and bubble bath to take home in the scent Vanilla Pink Pepper.

The rest of the trip went by super fast, but it was a great time. We walked so much I decided if I ever move to a big city like that, I will have several pairs of cute tennis shoes that I will walk to work in and then switch into my heels. I loved taking the subway and walking but doing that every day would encourage me to get some comfortable kicks!

I can’t wait to go back but trying for warmer weather next time! See ya next time, New York!

Did you hear the news?!

Friends,

To say I am excited is an understatement…

Palmetto Couture was featured in one of my local area newspapers last week!

I am so thankful for the exposure and the interest in my blog by the Loris Times!

Since beginning my blog back in November, I have had several opportunities available to me that have been so awesome and allowed me to connect with some very sweet people. I hope to grow my blog and continue to create content that you all enjoy!

Special thank you to Jen Boyd, author of the articles, for reaching out and believing in me. You are awesome!

3 Must-Haves for Spring!

Hi friends,

March is here, and I am so ready for warm weather! I absolutely love getting outside and being active this time of year. Another thing I love, is switching out my closet to prepare for the warmer months. Southerners know how hot it can get during the summer time, so I am going to milk these few spring months for as long as they last!

In the midst of transitioning to warm weather clothing, here are 3 of my must-haves for this Spring season:

1. Statement Flats– I am currently OBSESSED with lace up and studded flats! They started with top fashion designers like Valentino and have worked their way into more affordable options. Thank goodness!

These are perfect with skinny jeans, shorts, dresses, you name it! I’ve linked some of my favorites below.

2. Neon Everything– While in the winter months I am heavily clad in a black and gray scale, Spring gives me a chance to break out of the classics and have a little fun. A pop of neon is a way to brighten your look without resembling a highlighter.

One of my favorite ways to incorporate neon is with a cute clutch or handbag. Its an easy way to sass things up!

3. Bright Lips– If you know me well, you know my obsession with lipstick. I have over 40 lipsticks and am always looking for more! This spring, I see bright lips in the forecast including hot pinks, bold corals, and fuchsias.

I’ve always said a lipstick can change your mood and your look instantly. Check out the fun colors linked below.

Beauty Review: Jamberry Nail Wraps

Hi friends!

If you are a girly girl like me, you probably love to have your nails painted at all times! I used to go to the salon all the time and have professional manicures done, but that can get pricey!

When I can, I will paint my own nails, and if I do say so myself, they usually look pretty good. However, when it comes to any fancy designs, I remember I never won a blue ribbon for an art project in elementary school…

But anyway, my friend Emily reached out to me before Christmas, asking if I had heard of Jamberry nail wraps. It sounded familiar, but I wasn’t completely sure what they were. She sent me a fun Christmas pattern to try, and I fell in love! I went on her site and bought 4 packs of nail wraps for myself.

If you aren’t familiar with Jamberry or a nail wrap, it is a decal that adheres to your nail and comes in so many beautiful and fun prints/patterns. That said, let’s get to it! Here is my experience with Jamberry thus far:

4 out of 5 Stars!

PROS:
-Beautiful designs: ranging from classic to holiday to super trendy, there is a nail wrap for every person’s tastes!

-Affordable: running at $15 for package of two, that makes this manicure much cheaper than a trip to the salon. They even have a special: Buy 3, Get 1 Free!

-Ease of Application: with so many how-to videos on YouTube and included instructions, Jamberry nail wraps are relatively easy to apply.

-Durability: the nail wrap, if applied correctly, can last you anywhere from 7-10 days (my personal experience.) When compared to regular nail polish, Jamberry wins the durability test.

-Removal: Jamberry peels off very easily and left minimal residue. I was shocked at how easy it was to take them off!

CONS:
-Time: While easy enough to put on your nail, it took me about an hour to do both hands well.

-Edges: I did have a little trouble keeping the ends of my nail wraps smooth. While that may be a Holly-problem, it was one issue that I experienced.

Overall, I really did enjoy my Jamberry nail wraps. I received many compliments on them from friends and surprisingly from two delivery men, HAHA!

Right now, Jamberry has many holiday wraps out for Valentine’s Day as well as St. Patrick’s Day and Easter. I think they are definitely worth a try! You can get your own nail wraps by clicking here! I do not get any kickbacks when you purchase these and these opinions are all my own!

I want to always be honest when reviewing any products whether they were a gift or purchased. I hope this review helps and that you will check out Emily’s page!
