Valentine’s Gifts for Her…or You.

1. VS Robe– who doesn’t love feeling pampered and getting cozy in a fluffy robe?! I have this one in gray. (Thanks, Chris!)

2. Coffee Mug– There are SO many cute mugs out there. Find one that suits her personality. You could even add a bag of specialty coffee with the mug for a little something extra. Marshalls and TJ Maxx usually have both for cheap!

3. Laura Mercier Honey Bath– If she loves being pampered, the Laura Mercier bath collection is a MUST. It’s a little pricey, but the products are well worth it. Ambre Vanille is my favorite!

4. Alex and Ani– If you are looking to splurge a little this year, jewelry is never a bad option if you are in a more serious relationship. I love these Alex and Ani bracelets! Find a couple that match her style and she can wear them all together. A great watch would be a nice option too.

5. Handwritten Note & Dinner- If your budget is tight after the holidays, a sweet, handwritten note and cooking dinner always is a good idea! Don’t let a small budget deter you from sharing how much you care about your girl!

While I am a firm believer in showing your person how much you care all year long, Valentine’s Day is a fun little holiday to do something extra sweet. If you are single this Valentine’s Day, treat yourself to something special!

All the items in this post are items I have tested out myself or am currently craving! What are ya’ll doing for your significant others this Valentine’s Day?! Comment below and let me know your plans!

Beauty Review: Jamberry Nail Wraps

Hi friends!

If you are a girly girl like me, you probably love to have your nails painted at all times! I used to go to the salon all the time and have professional manicures done, but that can get pricey!

When I can, I will paint my own nails, and if I do say so myself, they usually look pretty good. However, when it comes to any fancy designs, I remember I never won a blue ribbon for an art project in elementary school…

But anyway, my friend Emily reached out to me before Christmas, asking if I had heard of Jamberry nail wraps. It sounded familiar, but I wasn’t completely sure what they were. She sent me a fun Christmas pattern to try, and I fell in love! I went on her site and bought 4 packs of nail wraps for myself.

If you aren’t familiar with Jamberry or a nail wrap, it is a decal that adheres to your nail and comes in so many beautiful and fun prints/patterns. That said, let’s get to it! Here is my experience with Jamberry thus far:

pinknavy nail

4 out of 5 Stars!

-Beautiful designs: ranging from classic to holiday to super trendy, there is a nail wrap for every person’s tastes!

-Affordable: running at $15 for package of two, that makes this manicure much cheaper than a trip to the salon. They even have a special: Buy 3, Get 1 Free!

-Ease of Application: with so many how-to videos on YouTube and included instructions, Jamberry nail wraps are relatively easy to apply.

-Durability: the nail wrap, if applied correctly, can last you anywhere from 7-10 days (my personal experience.) When compared to regular nail polish, Jamberry wins the durability test.

-Removal: Jamberry peels off very easily and left minimal residue. I was shocked at how easy it was to take them off!

-Time: While easy enough to put on your nail, it took me about an hour to do both hands well.

-Edges: I did have a little trouble keeping the ends of my nail wraps smooth. While that may be a Holly-problem, it was one issue that I experienced.

Overall, I really did enjoy my Jamberry nail wraps. I received many compliments on them from friends and surprisingly from two delivery men, HAHA!

Right now, Jamberry has many holiday wraps out for Valentine’s Day as well as St. Patrick’s Day and Easter. I think they are definitely worth a try! You can get your own nail wraps by clicking here! I do not get any kickbacks when you purchase these and these opinions are all my own!

I want to always be honest when reviewing any products whether they were a gift or purchased. I hope this review helps and that you will check out Emily’s page!

Beauty Review: Younique Mascara

DSC_0079Before Picture: No Mascara

During: Left (bare) Right (two coats)

After: Two coats of Younique on top lashes

My Review: 3 out of 5 Stars

I heard of Younique and their Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara a while back but never tried it. A friend of mine was recently selling it, and I decided to give it a go!

In case you are not familiar, this mascara requires users to first coat lashes with its transplanting gel. While still wet, you must use the second tube of product that contains fibers to lengthen and thicken your original lashes. Then you must seal in the fibers with the transplanting gel. Repeat if necessary. (I did two coats.)

For me, personally, I could tell a difference in the thickness of my lashes immediately. In regards to length, I could never achieve the beautiful lashes I saw in the many success stories. While this could partially be user error, I think results are definitely varied depending on the lashes of each individual person.

My lashes are fairly short and there’s really not a lot of them! You can see in the pictures that there is a difference, but I believe I can achieve a similar look with products that I currently use. And being a slightly pricey mascara at $29, I was hoping to be a little more pleased with the outcome.

As for the ease of application, it was a more time consuming than tradition mascara, but the instructions were easy to follow.

The overall wear of the mascara was good but not excellent in my opinion. After several hours of wearing, some of the fibers fell on my cheeks and under/in my eyes.

While there are pros and cons to this mascara, I still give it a 3 out of 5 stars!

I think for girls with a little more lashes, you can probably create a very glamorous look with the fiber mascara. I love the idea of using a mascara as opposed to false lashes too because those can be a pain and the glue can tear out lashes if not removed properly.

It was relatively easy to use, and I will continue to play with the mascara to see if I can work on the length of mine. I don’t know that I would use this as an every day mascara, but with the holidays coming up, I look forward to trying again and adding a little something special to my look with the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Mascara!

The Ultimate Sunday Beauty Routine!

Hi friends!

The weekend is almost here, and I’m ready to relax! For me, no matter what my weekend consists of, Sunday is the day to catch up on my beauty routine! I like to take a few extra steps that I might skip during the week so that I can start my Monday fresh and put together. Below are 5 ways to relax and get yourself prepped for the week ahead.

1. Set the Mood

I love when everything is neat, clean, and looks like a picture! Before I start my beauty routine, I make sure my bathroom is set up to make me feel relaxed. I light a candle, lay out my towels, and if I’m really feeling fancy, I’ll set up a vase of fresh flowers.

2. Bubbles

After my bathroom is set up how I like, I run a bath and will read a chapter or two from a book I am reading. And of course, my bath has bubbles. How can a girl relax without bubbles?!

3. Exfoliate…everything!

Before I become a wrinkled prune, I exfoliate my body using a scrub you can pick up from your local drugstore. I use St. Ive’s Body Scrub, and it makes my skin feel so soft and new. If you get dry skin or just want to rejuvenate your skin, exfoliating will seriously help!

I also exfoliate my face before I continue with my typical skincare routine but be sure to use a face scrub and not a body scrub! A body scrub is much too hard for the sensitive skin on your face.

4. Mask-querade

This next step might be my favorite part of the Sunday beauty routine! After I am out of the bath, I use a mask on my face to get all the impurities out! Everyone’s skin is different, but for my oily skin, I use Clinique’s Oil-Control Cleansing Mask. It really works to help with shine-control!

Not only is using a mask once or twice a week great for your skin, there is just something special and fun about using one!

5. Moisturize

After I’ve completed my skincare, I make sure to moisturize my face and neck! These areas age much more quickly than other areas of the body so it is important to keep them hydrated. And especially after exfoliating your body, you will want to use a lotion or cream to soothe your skin during a prime time to lock in moisture!

All of these things are very typical of what I do every Sunday. They make me feel fresh, new, and like I really have my life together! 🙂

Each person’s skincare and beauty routines will be different based on your skin type but overall you can utilize these five steps to work for your own Ultimate Sunday Beauty Rituals. I love hearing about new products, so please feel free to comment below and tell me your beauty must-haves! Have a great weekend!

XOXO, Holly
